Intuitionistic Fuzzy Supplier Selection using Signed Distance and Fuzzy TOPSIS

Abstract

This research proposes a novel supplier selection approach using Intuitionistic Trapezoidal Fuzzy Numbers (ITFNs), Signed Distance(SD),and Fuzzy TOPSIS. The Signed Distance, a robust metric for measuring the distance between intuitionistic fuzzy sets, is employed to rank ITFNs and compare suppliers based on multiple criteria using Fuzzy TOPSIS. The proposed model effectively handles uncertainty and vagueness in supplier evaluations, providing more flexible and accurate supplier rankings. The supplier selection process is demonstrated with a numerical example.
