Abstract

This study explores the utilization of information technology to enhance the quality of work life of administrative and academic staff at Wasit University. The research aims to establish how the utilization of information technology systems assists in fostering various components of work quality, including employee participation, development opportunities, communication, appreciation, and job security. To this end, the study relied on a formal questionnaire as the primary data collection tool, which was formulated on the basis of validated measures from the literature. (220) responses were collected and analyzed using SPSS and AMOS software. The study experimentally verified a set of hypotheses for the direct effect of information technology on work life quality. Descriptive statistics, reliability analysis (Cronbach's Alpha), exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses, and structural equation modeling (SEM) were employed to analyze the hypothesized relationships. The findings demonstrate a statistically significant positive effect of information technology on work quality, highlighting its significant role in the facilitation of a conducive and productive work environment in institutions of higher learning. Based on these insights, the study provides theoretical contributions and practical recommendations for universities that seek to enhance employee well-being in the context of digital transformation.
