Abstract

Electronic Government, an International Journal (EG), established in 2004, is a peer-reviewed journal that disseminates articles showcasing contemporary practices and research in the realm of electronic government. The bibliometric data set for EG articles and reviews published between 2004 and 2023 is examined in this study, using a variety of metrics including the yearly citation structure, the most referenced articles in EG, and the leading authors, institutions, and nations that have made significant contributions. The utilization of the VOSviewer software aids in visualizing bibliometric data, revealing patterns in co-citation, bibliographic coupling, and co-occurrences of authors, institutions, countries, and keywords featured in EG. The findings not only shed light on the journal's historical performance but also offer insights into potential future focal points based on bibliographic trends and the evolving online landscape. Notably, EG is found to perform favorably when contrasted with other prominent journals in this area.
